Carlos Beltran Traded to Texas Rangers

Allen Kee / ESPN Images(ARLINGTON, Texas) — New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran has been traded to the Texas Rangers in exchange for three pitching prospects.

The deal was announced on Monday.

In addition to Beltran, the Rangers will also get cash considerations in the trade. The Yankees, meanwhile, get minor league right-handed pitchers Dillon Tate, Nick Green and Erik Swanson.

Beltran, 39, will be a free agent at the end of this season, when his current three-year, $45 million contract runs out.
